Official binary editions
Official prebuilt Orathor binaries are licensed, not sold, for personal use on devices you own or control. You may not redistribute, resell, modify, or reverse engineer an official binary except where applicable law permits it.
Direct edition
The direct-download edition’s trial, device allowance, paid license, and update access are governed by the terms shown at purchase. Purchases and license management are processed by Polar.
Setapp edition
Access to the Setapp edition requires an active Setapp membership and is also governed by your agreement with Setapp. Setapp, rather than Orathor, manages that subscription.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for obtaining consent before recording or transcribing other people, following workplace and local laws, protecting your API keys, and reviewing dictated text before relying on it. Speech recognition can produce errors.
Warranty and liability
Orathor is provided “as is,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for claims, damages, data loss, or other liability arising from use of the software.
Open-source builds and trademark
The source code is available under the GNU GPL v3. Builds made from that source are governed by that license rather than these binary terms. “Orathor,” its logo, and its app icon are trademarks of Justin Ahinon and are not granted under the GPL.
